Renfrewshire North & West MSP Derek Mackay has paid tribute to locals who have been working to keep services running during the recent weather warnings.
The Government Minister, who formerly served as Transport Minister, also praised the community spirit of those who have spent time assisting neighbours and others during the cold snap.
“It has been a tough few days, and great credit, along with our heartfelt thanks, must go to everyone who has braved the conditions to keep services running or assist others in the community.
“Stories of people giving stranded NHS workers lifts, taking shopping to neighbours or clearing paths in their local area, as I managed to assist with on Friday, is heart-warming.
“The sense of community spirit during these types of situations is wonderful.
“And as a former Transport Minister, I know the work that goes on behind the scenes on our railways, airports and road networks to also try and keep things moving.
“As services start to return to normal, please continue to be prepared and check before travelling.”
