SNP MSP Derek Mackay has welcomed the recently reported passenger growth at Glasgow Airport, which is in his constituency of Renfrewshire North & West.
Almost 905,689 people travelled through Glasgow Airport in June 2015, an increase of 14.2% compared to the same period last year.
The figures ensured the Airport’s 28th consecutive month of growth.
Mr Mackay, the MSP for Glasgow Airport, said:
“It is encouraging to see passenger numbers continuing to grow at Glasgow Airport.
“In a time of economic pressures, maintaining passenger numbers can be a challenge. This increase in numbers is testament to the hard work of airport staff.
“Glasgow Airport is going from strength to strength which is good news for Renfrewshire.
“The Airport is a vital part of the local economy and any increase in passenger numbers has a positive knock on effect throughout the area.”
